The Hypnotiser is a book written by Michael Rosen, consisting of various stories. Some stories center around Michael and his family, while others are focused on original characters and scenarios. The stories are often bizarre and unusual. André Deutsch Limited first published The Hypnotiser in hardcover in 1988, and Lions later published it with paperback four years after that.
At some point, The Hypnotiser went out of print. Unable to get any publisher to reprint it, Michael decided to ask Joe to film him performing selected poems/stories from the book.[4]
